Overview
Ozu Castle in Ehime Prefecture is believed to have been built during the Kamakura period by the Utsunomiya clan. It later became the seat of the Kato clan, who ruled the Ozu Domain for 237 years. Although the original keep was dismantled in the Meiji era, it was faithfully reconstructed in 2004 as a four-story, four-floor wooden keep—the first full-scale wooden reconstruction of a castle keep built in Japan after World War II
