Overview
Yuzuki Castle, located in Dogo Park in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, was built around 1335 by the Kono clan, the governors of Iyo Province. Surrounded by moats and earthen embankments, it was an important stronghold in medieval times. Excavations since 1988 have revealed its original structure, and today the site is preserved as a National Historic Site with reconstructed samurai residences and a museum
Access
Access
Access is very convenient. From central Matsuyama, take the Iyotetsu city tram to Dogo Park Station in about 15 minutes. The park entrance is right next to the station. By car, it’s around 20 minutes from the Matsuyama Interchange on the expressway. From Matsuyama Tourist Port, a taxi ride takes about 30–40 minutes

Paid parking is available inside the park, with 23 spaces at the west entrance and 11 at the north entrance. The fee is 100 yen per 30 minutes. Tour buses can also use the facilities with prior reservation. During weekends and cherry blossom season, it’s best to arrive early to secure a spot
