Overview
Osaka Castle is one of Japan’s most iconic castles, originally built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in the late 16th century. Massive stone walls and broad moats still show the scale of the project. The current main tower is a modern reconstruction (completed in 1931) and houses a museum with exhibits on the Toyotomi and Tokugawa eras, plus a panoramic observation deck over the city.
