Kubota Castle was built by Yoshinobu Satake in the early Edo period as the seat of the Akita domain. Without a towering keep, it relied on moats and earthworks—an efficient, practical design. Today it’s part of Senshū Park.

Several paid parking options are available around Senshū Park, including a municipal lot with reasonable hourly rates. It can get busy during cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons.

Visit the reconstructed corner turret (Osumi Yagura) for views over Akita City and a stamp spot. The park also contains many historical points, so you can enjoy a calm walk while tracing the old layout.
